Company description:
We began with one club in 1979 and now have 144 clubs across Canada. This success can be attributed to never losing sight of our core values. Follow the timeline to see our rapid growth and success milestones along the way.
In 1979 we pened first facility at Adelaide and Cheapside in London
Starting from a single, 2,000 square foot club in London in 1979, powered only with the drive to provide an unequalled level of educated fitness professionals and high-quality equipment and standards, GoodLife Fitness has grown into the largest group of fitness clubs in Canada.
GoodLife currently employs 4,000 Associates and has more than 300,000 members. Guided by a long-term approach to the business, GoodLife prides itself on offering reasonably priced memberships with a high level of service, the best in equipment, facilities and personnel.
Today, the fitness industry is becoming as much a part of people's daily lives as grocery shopping. People need physical activity for a minimum of 30 minutes, three times a week to take care of their cardiovascular fitness, strength, flexibility, stress reduction, weight control and general health. While awareness of the importance of fitness is now sweeping the nation, GoodLife's vision has never wavered. For three decades, we have strived to make our Canadian communities healthier places to live.
What differentiates us in the marketplace is, first, our focus on caring. It sets us apart as both a fitness club and as an organization to grow with. Associates are encouraged to care for themselves through personal fitness and peak attitude. Second, our staff are encouraged to care for each other as GoodLife team members and to motivate each other to do their best for members. And most importantly, they are asked to care for members, looking after their needs and interests as if their own.
Caring is the key value and philosophical component of the GoodLife culture. Caring dictates success at GoodLife. It attracts staff who care. It also attracts and keeps the type of members who consider caring to be an important component of their lives and life in general.
