Company description:
There are approximately 250,000 individuals with special needs and seniors in Calgary, 55,000 are estimated to be children with special needs. The Ability Society assists 1500 individuals per year, of which 500 of them are children. We run a program called the Early Birds which provides services to children who are under contract with FSCD. We have a team of trained clinicians and staff who work hard to help children and their families develop the skills necessary to lead a productive life.
Our goal is to ensure that all children and adults with special needs and seniors have the opportunity to gain a higher quality of life and become active participants in their community. We achieve this goal by providing specially adapted equipment and strategies, which allows these individuals to pursue opportunities in areas such as citizenship, education, living independently, or volunteerism.
