About MTI
MTI is a provider of interactive merchandising solutions for retailers. Initially serving the consumer electronics retail industry, today MTI is recognized by top mass merchants and other specialty retailers as the industry leader for immersive shopping experiences that let customers try out products and obtain detailed product information. These displays feature cutting-edge designs, integrated product promotion capabilities, and facilities that guard against product damage and theft – all with the goal of reducing the confusion of shopping for feature-rich consumer electronics products. MTI is headquartered in Hillsboro, Ore. Where it has operated since 1977. It employs over 200 people in facilities comprising 83,000 sq. ft. In creating a customer’s display – whether for one store or thousands – MTI handles design, fabrication, sourcing and integration of the products to be displayed, quality assurance and final testing, installation in the field, plus long-term servicing of the display. This comprehensive approach has earned the company high customer satisfaction and loyalty as well as numerous industry awards.
Product Line
Intuition is a family of digital merchandising solutions that enable both touch screen-driven and SKU-activated customer experiences that deliver product information at the critical point-of decision. This includes full-motion video and live integration with databases and POS systems. Intuition also offers access to web-based content creation, delivery and management features. Further, it serves as the engine for “broadcast” digital signage networks, providing targeted messages (based on time and location) to video screens throughout a store. Finally Intuition can be paired with MTI’s signal management products to provide touch screen product demonstrations, or with the company’s Freedom system to provide product information whenever a specific SKU is lifted from the display. Freedom was specifically designed for merchandising CE handheld products, including live demonstrations of digital cameras, MP3 players, camcorders and mobile phones. It uses a single retractable tether to anchor these products to custom fixtures, the multi-function tether provides product-specific power, optional integration with digital signage systems, and built-in loss-prevention features. Integrated plastic pucks and posts, display the individual products in an attractive manner and autorotate products to face forward after each customer demonstration. Freedom modules can be networked together to display a virtually unlimited number of SKUs. Audition represents a category of MTI products that function within a merchandising display or store infrastructure. These products facilitate the distribution and switching of a multitude of signal types that result in a customer’s ability to perform live product demonstrations. They include components such as a switching system that interconnects all the components of a mobile audio or home theater system, with an interactive control panel for selecting different combinations. Other infrastructure offerings include a series of products for switching and distributing analog and digital signals to a range of products in a store, such as conventional and HD televisions, DVDs, VCRs, projection systems and monitors.
