A OVERVIEW OF THE INTERNATIONAL PROGRAM AT NEERJA MODI SCHOOL

Neerja Modi School is a co-educational, senior secondary, non-sectarian day school with an enrollment of approximately 1900 students. Our school is located in the historical city of Jaipur in the State of Rajasthan. Being a global institute, our aim is to create a learning environment that is both challenging and diverse. We have a competent, supportive and dedicated faculty, which strives to interact in an atmosphere of mutual respect and trust. Since we believe in the holistic development of the child, we provide our students with ample opportunities for personal growth and development through academic endeavors, sports, dance, music, community work and through our International Program. It is our hope that these components will go a long way in assisting our students in their pursuit of a self acquired and dignified role as global citizens.

BUILDING INTERNATIONAL BRIDGES
Besides academics and sports we also believe in providing rich and diverse experiences to students by way of interaction with international students from diverse backgrounds and cultures through international partnerships with various schools. This enables the students to learn about cultures, values, learning techniques, curriculum and ways of living other than their own and imbibes in our students a broad, tolerant and inquisitive mindset. We have had an ongoing partnership with the Harker School USA since 2003 and have recently developed a number of new partnerships world over.

Student exchange Program
International student exchange programs contribute substantially to participants’ individual development and international understanding. Students who participate in short term study tours are more knowledgeable with respect to international affairs and tend to be more effective and self confident. With this belief we have initiated a reciprocal student exchange program with international schools. This year our students went to Indonesia and New Zealand on exchange in May and we will receive international students in September.

We strongly believe that the interaction and creative-clash of ideas originating from diverse international backgrounds results in diverse approaches to problem solving and culminates in superior skills and learning. The sharing of perceptions, interests, narratives and experiences will definitely result in the construction of an ideal school community.

Teacher Exchange Program
The school is also in midst of developing a Teacher Exchange Program. Since we believe that “learning never stops and the education is an on going process”, strong emphasis is laid upon staff development programs. Each year many newly trained teachers are inducted into the faculty coupled with that we endeavor to expose the senior management to the changing and developing international educational scenario so that they can transfer this knowledge to the new staff and make them achieve the highest standards of teaching .It is our aim to host at least two foreign exchange teachers each year during either of the two semesters.

International Volunteer and Internship Program
We invite volunteer teachers from reputed schools and universities to our school for a minimum period of three weeks to teach our students using the methods and techniques in practice at international schools in their country. Students from colleges and universities worldwide undertake teaching at our school as an “internship” which adds to their understanding of Indian culture and the Indian education system.

School Forum: Our Earth
Our joint forum “Our Earth” is yet another project which our students have embarked upon. This online forum is a platform for students from all around the world to come together and discuss issues of international concern and try to find solutions to those issues. This year we are participating in NAIS Challenge 20/20 program which identifies 20 global problems that can be addressed through local solutions.
