Company description:
Steeler Summary
Steeler is a light gauge steel framing manufacturer for commercial and residential buildings. We specialize in short lead-time custom steel fabrication, and also distribute a high volume of drywall, insulation, ceiling tile, floor joists, power tools, finishing tools, fasteners, and lots of other construction supplies.
Steeler has 12 branch offices throughout the Western U.S. (Washington, Portland, California, Arizona, Nevada, and Vancouver Canada.) Each branch has a retail store, a warehouse, and distribution equipment for local sales and delivery. We sell directly to Sub and General Contractors who build small and large commercial and residential buildings. We also sell directly to the general public – namely the do-it-yourselfers who want to get better pricing and service than they can get at larger retail hardware stores.
Steeler History
Steeler has been in business since 1974, when it’s owner and founder Matt Surowiecki began selling and delivering tools and screws to constructions sites in Seattle. In the mid 80’s he began manufacturing steel framing, and now Steeler sells over 1,000 items including drywall, insulation, and even stucco and exterior wall systems in our Seattle and Tacoma stores. Steeler is the longest operating steel framing manufacturer in the U.S. that hasn’t merged with another company or gone bankrupt, and has approximately 175 employees. Steeler sells $50 Million in construction supplies per year out of its 12 branches. It is a steadily growing company and is known for being able to deliver large or small custom steel orders, usually within about 7 business days from the time the order is placed.
