Banff Photography is the largest provider of retail and professional photography services in the Canadian Rockies. We operate four retail locations. The Banff Camera Shop on Banff Avenue, The Banff Film Lab on Banff Ave.,Banff Photography at the Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel and the Chateau Film Lab at the Chateau Lake Louise. We also operate attraction photography services at The Banff Gondola and The Columbia Icefield. Our retail locations are state of the art imaging centres offering a broad range of photography related products and services. Banff Photography also offers portraiture, group photography, wedding photography and conference/special event photography services. At our Fairmont properties, we provide a fulltime photographer to fulfill our established group photography services and our speculative portraiture photography services.
We are in the memory business! Working at any of our retail locations our staff are responsible for handling the diverse imaging needs of visitors to Banff National Park. Whether taking print processing orders, assisting a client at one of our many client imaging workstations, or helping a client pick the best camera for their needs, our staff must have a passion for service and quality! A true interest in photography is also a requirement. Our clients expect our staff to be knowledgeable about photography. Photography is the third most popular activity engaged in by Visitors too Banff National Park. The more interested our staff are in the technology and process of photography, the better they service our diverse clientele!
We hire for attitude and train for aptitude. No specific photography experience is necessary. It is desirable, but what we are really looking for is a passion for service and a passion for imaging!
A select portion of our retail staff will also find themselves behind the camera. Photographic assignments will include creating group photographs at the Banff Springs and Chateau Lake Louise to assisting our senior photographers on weddings and convention shoots. Staff who exhibit an aptitude towards photography, and who have a sincere desire to learn more about providing professional photography services, will be assigned these engagements as they become available.

For those with photography experience, please be advised that before any of our staff step behind the camera to represent our company, they must first prove to us their ability to represent our service values on the retail floor.

We are looking for staff to fulfill 6 month contracts. We welcome staff to continue their employment with us, and a candidate’s suitability for future employment will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis at the end of their term.
