Position: Power Engineer (Operating Technician/Power & Recovery)

MUST be a 1st,2nd,3rd, of 4th class Power Engineer
An opportunity exists for a 4th Class Power Engineer/ Operating Technician to join our Power and Recovery Business Team.
As a member of a non-union team you will be trained up and participate in the rotational job roles in the Power and Recovery department including the control panel. The equipment you will take charge of includes a Black Liquor fired Recovery Boiler with a steaming rate of 305 tons per hour; Wood fired Power Boiler with a steaming rate of 180 tons per hour, 44 MW steam turbine, Black liquor evaporators, Lime Kiln, Raw Water and Waste Water treatment plants. Your progression through the department will be based on your ability to learn and your motivation and desire to advance to the highest level of our technical pay for skills program. On Completion of your 2nd class certification, leadership development opportunities are made available to those who desire it.
Qualifications:
Minimum Fourth Class Power Engineer’s Certificate of Competency (include file certificate number). -AnyPowerEngineering Certificates above 4th Class will be considered assets
High School Diploma or equivalent
Successful completion of Math 20 and Physics 20
Previous pulp mill/industrial experience is desired, but not essential
Good computer skills
Team focused and self motivated with good interpersonal and communication skills.
Requirements:
Progress to the top of our Technical Progression ‘pay for skills’ program within five years
Shift work 12 hour day and night shifts on a 28 day cycle, with both scheduled and short notice overtime
Ability to work in a physically demanding environment
Progress to a 2nd Class Power Engineer. (Educational assistance available)
