Position: DB2 UDB DBA
Location: Toronto
Contract: 5 Months Renewable
Rate: $95hr
The Company is experiencing exponential growth and is looking for multiple individuals specializing in DB/2 and UDB database administration. We are looking for professional administrators with very strong internals knowledge, and who experience running databases in production environments. Other critical skills include:
Mandatory DB2 UDB DBA Skills:
- 5+ years IT experience, with 3+ years in DB2 UDB 7.x and 8.x
- Senior-level database performance tuning skills, especially SQL tuning
- Intimate familiarity with backups & recovery
- Large database experience (100GB+)
- 24x7 production support experience
- Deep UNIX shell scripting knowledge (Perl would be a plus!) & Windows scripting knowledge
- DB2 UDB v8.2 DBA on AIX/Windows platform to provide second level support for remote customer production databases and to support the IBM development team. In a nutshell, the candidate should be able to monitor performance, tune the databases, extract/load data, perform routine db maintenance (backup, restore, etc), and advise on High Availability and Disaster Recovery techniques.
