The incumbent is accountable for ensuring reliable, high quality and low cost steam and power supply to the site operating and business units and site service area as well as ensuring site energy consumptions is minimized while compliance with Corporate Principles and guidelines and applicable legislation.


-ensure effective management and optimization of stream plant operation to ensure a continuous high quality, low cost steam and power supply to the site while ensuring that regulatory standards are met
-review electricity and natural gas contracts and recommend purchasing operational and control strategies to ensure a continuous, reliable and low cost supply
-ensure department operation budgets are prepared, met and variances explained with appropriate corrective action taken as needed
-prepare and implement a cost reduction program and explain variances
-prepare and recommend for approval departmental capital spending plans, and assist in implementation to ensure results are achieved for approved requests
-ensure EMS and QMS are implemented, maintained and standards met in area of accountability
-implement EMP impact Zero items in area of accountability
Ensure compliance with all environmental legislation and take corrective action as required
-promote and provide a safe work place and ensure corrective action is taken as required
-assist in the development and maintenance in area of accountability
-prepare a site wide program to reduce power and steam consumption and assist in implementing the agreed upon improvements

The position reports to the Mill Manger

Qualifications:
-Education: University Degree in Engineering or equivalent
Related experience at least 8 years
Bilingual French and English would be an asset
Professional Certification and qualification: P.Eng or stationary engineer
