Summary
As Maintenance Planner you will report to the Manager, Maintenance Planning and Scheduling in the Operations and Maintenance Department. The Maintenance Planning team develops system maintenance plans and then coordinates the successful delivery of these plans and enables the organization to have confidence that identified Maintenance work will be completed in an efficient and timely manner. This coordinated effort includes interaction with other departments in and outside of AltaLink.
Responsibilities
Confirms all activities, materials, equipment and associated costs required to complete annual work plans on AltaLink's assets.
Provide detail information on Maintenance work progress and budget expenditures as well as identifying course corections as required.
Work with other groups within Operations to ensure annual work is completed.
Provide support to the Manager, Maintenance Planning and Scheduling.
Create annual work plan for their discipline and works with manager to create integrated work plan.
Create and finalzie the annual calendar for theier assigned technical discipline and works with the manager to create the integrated annual calendar.
Allocate resources into the 8 week forecast for their assigned technical discipline.
Identifies, records and tracks issues to resolution within their discipline.
Ensure decisions made by Asset Analyst are communicated and Planned
Provide direction to administrative support to ensure all required duties are carried out.
Support and provide diretion to the Scheduler as required.
Qualifications
Must possess a Technical Diploma or an Engineering Degree.
Minimum of 5 years experience in a Technical Role within the Substation discipline in the Utility Industry.
Previous planning experience with a comprehensive knowledge of maintenance requirements and practices for equipment associated with the required discipline.
Proficient working with SAP - PM Module and other software packages is essential.
Previous experience in budgeting, forecasting and variance reporting.
Creative, innovative and demonstrate perseverence to move new ideas to implementation.
Ability to multi task within a fast paced environment.
Needs to be a self starter and work with minimal direction.
Strong interpersonal skills, verbal, and written communication while dealing with all business levels.
Ability to analyze problems and determine alternatives which result in sound decisions.
Effectively confronts and resolves conflicts by negotiating win-win solutions.
Ability to plan, organize and delegate work to meet performance expectations.
