Summary
AltaLink requires a motivated leader to fill the position of Manager, South Field Technologists. As part of the Field Operations leadership team reporting to the Director, Field Operations you will be focused on managing safety, productivity, and effectiveness of the maintenance activities in the Telecommunications and Protection & Control Areas. You will oversee and manage a highly skilled team of 14 technologists throughout Southern Alberta.
Responsibilities
Provide corporate communication and direction to staff
Manage team performance
Optimization of staff utilization and productivity
Accountable for safety performance and reporting
Create and manage annual budgets of approx $200K, including monthly expense variances and forecasts
Assist in the development of departmental budgeting and business planning
Provide monthly and quarterly reports on the identified key performance indicators
Maintain and build internal and external relationships with key suppliers and customers
Qualifications
Education and experience equivalent to an Engineering Degree or a Diploma from a recognized institute.
Minimum 10 -15 years experience in the Power Utility or related Industry.
Proven formal management experience of 2-3 years in a leadership role
Ability to manage multiple competing priorities.
Strong inter-personal, written and oral communication skills.
An understanding of the transmission business along with a working knowledge of Protection & Control and Telecommunication operations.
Field Operations leadership experience will be an asset.
Budget management experience would be an asset.
