Job Description:
We are currently seeking a talented Network & Systems Administrator with positive attitudes to join our energetic development team.

The Network & Systems Administrator is one of a few newly created positions as a result of our doubling in size over the last year. We are looking for an enthusiastic team member who is complemented with a great attitude and sound technical knowledge. The incumbent is responsible for the ongoing daily management and support of the enterprise IT infrastructure, including servers, network, routers, switches, firewall, VPN monitoring, reporting etc. This position requires someone with the ability to work independently with excellent communication and problem solving skills and will take complete ownership.

Job Description:
As Network and System Administrator, you will be in charge of network and server administration, as well as hardware/software management and helpdesk / technical support.

You will:
• Install, configure & maintain servers. Perform necessary upgrades to the servers, including researching and installing patches, security updates, and service packs.
• Ensure ongoing systems integrity and security related to virus protection, hackers, spam and junk, network access, email, Internet access and telecommunications (voice and data) services.
• Perform and manage system backups and recovery. Create disaster recovery plans and periodic testing and verification confirming controls are in place and effective.
• Administer and configure routers and firewalls.
• Ensure that only the right people have access to certain information and ensure that trade secrets cannot be taken from the company.
• Prepare and anticipate future system needs. Assist with the design of network and systems plans, including the work necessary to implement and maintain these systems.
• Support, monitor, test, and troubleshoot workstation hardware and software problems pertaining to LAN. Recommend and schedule repairs.
• Maintain inventory for computer hardware and software licenses.
• Provide technical support (hardware and software) if required.
• Configure Cisco Phone Systems for new users and update as necessary.
• Prepare monthly information systems and technology performance reports to management as required.


Education/Certification:
• Bachelor Degree in Computer Science - preferably in Information Systems.
• Completion of the Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certificate, CCNP preferred.


Required Skills/Experience:
• MCSE/A+ Certifications with a minimum of 2 years relevant experience.
• A minimum of five (5) years experience administrating and supporting corporate wide IT infrastructure systems and services.
• Excellent knowledge and skills in Microsoft Windows Server 2003, Cisco Systems infrastructure, Antivirus, Active Directory, Exchange 2003, SQL Server, MS Access and IIS.
• TCP/IP networking, WINS, DNS and DHCP.
• Cisco routing, switching & firewall implementation experience.
• Cisco PIX firewall implementation, configuration and support.
• Network traffic analysis.
• Good understanding of Network Security.
• Cisco certification is an asset


Other Relevant Skills:
• Ability to adapt to new challenges and environments.
• Must be self-motivated individual who takes pride in delivering high quality work products and working as an integral part of a team.
• Must be flexible and work after hours occasionally during upgrades/emergency fixes.
• Should have excellent verbal and written English skills.

To Qualify: you will need to pass a written and practical test!
The test involves doing a short practical networking exercise and answering knowledge based questions.
