POSITION TITLE: Senior Quality Assurance Analyst
LOCATION: Toronto, Ontario

POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Senior Quality Assurance Analyst (QAA) plays an active role in the application of process management and quality improvement concepts for software development and maintenance. The Sr. QAA carries out procedures to ensure that all information systems products and services meet minimum organization standards and end-user requirements.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Actively participates in the improvement of the SDLC for all developed/supported systems
Actively participates in process improvement initiatives by providing feedback on deployed processes, helping with the piloting and training on software development methodologies
Creates new test package (design, execution plan and data preparation)
Tests high complexity system applications and verifies all output
Creates supporting documentation and administrative reports (e.g. work orders, timesheets)
Performs package and environment cleanup
Completes costing of Change Documents
Reviews and interprets all documentation including business requirements, functional and design specifications, etc.
QUALIFICATIONS:
University degree or college diploma in Computer Science or equivalent industry experience
Minimum 5 years systems experience as a Q/A professional with extensive business knowledge
Solid understanding of SDLC and Q/A concepts, metrics analysis, methodologies and documentation standards
CMMI (Capability Maturity Model) knowledge and ISO 9001
Auditor course exposure
Strong analytical skills for complex problem solving
Solid communication skills, both written and verbal
Strong understanding of the QA process and methodologies including experience designing test cases and test plans
Strong experience developing SQL queries (SQL development skills)
Strong experience in a UNIX (AIX) environment performing manual testing using UNIX shell scripts (ie. command line, k shell scripting, troubleshooting)
Solid understanding of the ETL process from a QA perspective (ie. experience testing the aspects of ETL transformation using SQL, replicating the ETL process using SQL)
Experience performing data conversion, migration and integration
Experience performing data loads (i.e. creating complex test data and loading it into a database to test functionality) in a data warehouse environment.
Experience with DB2
Experience understanding business rules
Experience with testing applications designed to generate reports is an asset
An understanding of PVCS code databases is an asset
An understanding of MFS multipartition file systems is an asset
Experience with ETL tools is an asset (Ab Initio preferred)
An understanding of OLAP is an asset
Financial industry experience is an asset
Experience in implementing processes using the CMMI
Experience in CMMI assessments
Experience in ISO 9001 Audits
Mentor team members on the implementation of policies, methodologies and standards
