POSITION TITLE: Agile Software QA Test Engineer
LOCATION: Etobicoke

POSITION OVERVIEW:
Our client is a technology startup firm which provides application software and associated services to the financial industry, with a focus on Mobile Payments.
Their culture is based on the eXtreme Programming/AGILE philosophy.
They are looking for a top AGILE software test engineer with a deep knowledge of technical platforms and architectural make-up of a system.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Properly design, document and execute effective automated test scripts, custom test scripts
Accurately interpret the results, document any defects and track them to closure
Develop test plans and manage system test projects for software releases
Work in close collaboration with development team to translate functional and non functional requirements into testable features
Highlight possible issues and provide solutions to the project team in order to ensure a quality end product
Participate in product requirements, technical specs, and code review meetings.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Ability to create software testing tools from scratch
Fluency in an industry standard RAD programming language (Perl, Python, Ruby)
Fluency with Shell Scripting
Fluency in Java
Previous exposure to eXtreme Programming or any other AGILE methods
Understanding of IP Networking and UNIX Operating System
Solid problem solving and debugging skills
Ability to meet deadlines and deliver with high quality
Ability to work independently, as well as work in a team environment
Good communication skills, both oral and written
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
3-5 years performing Software Quality Assurance automated testing
Training on Software Quality Assurance best practices
Experience with Fit, FitLibrary, Fitnesse
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business or a related field or equivalent experience
