POSITION TITLE: QA Tester
LOCATION: Oakville, Ontario
DURATION: Permanent, Full-Time
POSITION OVERVIEW:
Our client is the leader in secure online data protection and provides network-based data protection solutions to thousands of companies worldwide.
They have an immediate need within their QA team for qualified QA Testers.
The main goals for this position are to: devise and run test cases which verify product compliance, to specific requirements of leading edge software, part of Functional and Integration testing.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop and execute test plans, test summary reports as required
Develop test cases and perform functional and integration testing including compatibility, internationalization,
Preparing and maintain the testing environment
Troubleshooting issues in our testing environments
Participate in project sprint planning, execution, testing and releases on Scrum methodology;
Assisting in our user education and documentation efforts.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum 2 to 4 years hands-on network/system administration experience
Minimum 3 to 5 years hands-on experience in a software development environment
Good experience with Windows platforms, hands-on knowledge of Unix (Linux, Solaris, HP, AIX) and/or NetWare and/or AS400
In-depth understanding of software development and testing methodologies (white box and black box testing, regression testing, load/stress testing)
Proficient in developing effective testing plans and test cases
Experience with QA automation technologies and methodologies.
Expertise in performance testing and benchmarking of new applications, including web applications
Excellent communication skills
Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to develop good working relationships with others, detailed-oriented
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Windows 2000, Windows 2003, Windows Vista, Windows XP
MCSE certification (obtained within the last 3 years)
Working experience with MS Exchange 5.5 / 2000 / 2003 / 2007
Working experience with MS SQL Server 7.0 / 2000 / 2005 and/or Oracle 8 / 9 / 10
Virtualization (VMware Server / VMware ESX Server 3.* / Microsoft Virtual Server 2005)
