BCIT requires two regular (permanent), full-time Instructors to prepare and deliver courses in the new Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical Engineering (BEng Electrical), and the Electrical and Computer Engineering Technology Diploma program. Your activities will include development and delivery of courses and laboratory activities, mentorship and supervision of student projects, and other tasks. You will need a solid foundation in engineering fundamentals, and a willingness to contribute in subjects which, at the outset, may not be in your main area of expertise. While a PhD in electrical engineering is an asset, emphasis will be placed on practical professional engineering experience and technical acumen. Through your direct involvement in the roll-out of the BEng-Electrical program, you will contribute to the creation of an exciting new path for students to an electrical engineering career.
Experience in one or more of the following areas is desirable: Communication Systems, Networks, RF Design, Software Engineering, Electrical Power & Machines, Semiconductors and Automation. Other areas of expertise will also be considered.
QUALIFICATIONS:
•Masters or PhD degree in Electrical Engineering
•Extensive Industry experience in Electrical Engineering
•Registration as a Professional Engineer (PEng), or pending registration
•Post-secondary teaching experience is preferred
•Effective command of the English language - both written and oral
•Effective interpersonal skills
•Interest in, and capacity for, applied research and development
•Demonstrated interest in professional development
•Demonstrated ability to work independently and in teams
