Description of Organization: Vector is an international direct sales company that markets Cutco, a high quality line of kitchen and household products, and outdoor sporting and gardening accessories. We are an organization that promotes from within and are proud that each one of our senior executives started with the company as a customer sales/service representative. The company is a wholly owned subsidiary of Alcas Corporation which has manufactured Cutco in Olean, NY since 1949.
Position Description: Vector representatives market our products through a direct, one-on-one approach. Presentations are done on a pre-set appointment basis and customer contacts are made by personal recommendation. There is no canvassing, cold calling, or phone solicitation involved. Each applicant accepted for the position is required to complete an initial entry level training seminar. After completing Vector’s initial training seminar, sales representatives practice and acquire confidence in their technique, while learning to build rapport, assess customer needs, and present a product solution that leads to a successful sale. Students will benefit from valuable training and experience in the areas of communication, marketing, and professional selling. Additional experience can be gained in the areas of public presentations, field training, human resource management, and sound financial management principals.
Hours Per Week: Full Time and Part Time openings. Flexible schedules are available for the summer. Representatives work with their managers to create their own work schedule.
Skills and Experience Required: Our most successful representatives have a positive attitude, customer-driven mindset, professional manner, and good communication skills. These are precisely the skills Vector focuses on in training, so prior experience is not necessary.
