Process Improvement Engineer
 

Work & Education Qualifications
• Engineering degree (or 5-8 years deep experience implementing Lean)
• Min. 3 years in a manufacturing environment in an engineering, lean manufacturing, strategic operational role; experience in Steel industry a plus
• Experience with planning and budgeting including equipment planning, facility improvements and process changes
• Strong, successful experience in leading improvement projects required
• Engineering, manufacturing or process background or experiences - ability to understand work flow/through-put through a facility
• Experience with change management in a manufacturing or related industry
• Training and/or Certification with Six Sigma, SPC, 5-S, TMC, Project Management, Facilitation or other quality/process improvement processes a plus
Technical Requirements
• Strong facilitation skills - knowledge of tools & techniques of methods to engage and lead groups of people
• Training skills - must be able to reach people’s potential and engage their creativity through visual, audio and kinetic learning processes
• Highly proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and Lean Manufacturing Software
Desirable traits
• Ability to plan and implement projects - to see the desired result and break process into steps to reach it
• Experience seeing projects through full cycle - plan, do, check, act
• Conflict resolution skills - knowledge of methods for turning disagreement into positive experience
• Excellent persuasion abilities - able to understand resistance and how to overcome it
• Organization skills and detail orientation - ability to coordinate many pieces of information, input and schedules
• Conceptual thinking - seeing how the pieces interact
• Business acumen - an understanding of relationships between vendors, suppliers and production through final product delivery to customer
• Communication - ability to share information appropriately and positively to respective audience; ability to develop and maintain written and verbal communication program on progress.
