Our client is seeking a JD Edwards Developer for a permanent position based in Calgary, Alberta. This position is to commence ASAP.
OVERVIEW
Within an Oracle EnterpriseOne environment (formerly JD Edwards OneWorld), the Developer/Systems Support Analyst’s role is to define, develop, test, analyze and maintain new software applications in support of the achievement of business requirements. This includes writing, coding, testing and analyzing software programs and applications. The Developer/Systems Support Analyst will also research, design, document and modify software specifications throughout the production life cycle. Through the course of performing these duties, the Developer/Systems Support Analyst will also be required to work with help desk and other technical staff to support a variety of existing applications.
• Assigned projects and tasks completed on schedule
• All issues discussed with team members and/or team leader to ensure complete solution is implemented that won’t adversely affect other CEF computer systems
• All projects / development activity designed, development, tested and documented to department standards
• Resolutions are delivered to help desk / client issues quickly, accurately and effectively. All parties involved understand both the problem and the resolution.
• “Quick fixes” are avoided where possible / practical and instead develops “quality fixes” that correct the full issue, not just the immediate problem.
• Provide after hours / on call support as required
• Calgary City Police Check Required.
Experience
Must Have
• 5 to 7 years of practical experience developing application solutions in and enterprise environment.
• At least 3 years of practical development experience in Oracle EnterpriseOne )
• Manipulation of data with SQL and/or other query tools in a large relational database environment.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows desktop environment (Windows XP, MS Office, MS Outlook etc)
• Proven ability to design, develop, debug, document and test enterprise software solutions.
• Special consideration given to candidates with additional training / courses in the following fields:
• E-Commerce and/or XML
• Oracle Enterprise One (formerly JD Edwards OneWorld) Development / Support
• 3rd Party Report Writing applications (Formscape, Crystal Reports etc)
• JAVA, C, SQL
• iSeries (AS/400) application development and/or systems support
Nice to Have
• Practical development experience in an IBM iSeries (AS/400) Development environment (RPG4, SQL, DB2 etc).
• Experience with Enterprise Reporting packages such as FormScape, Crystal Reports etc
• Knowledge of Oil and Gas Industry and/or Distribution Industry
• Knowledge of general business systems (General Ledger, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Purchasing etc)
• Development experience with 4th Generation Object Oriented languages
