Our client is the leading contractor in the Saskatechewan market and one of the leading general contractors in Canada. They have been in operation for over 50 years and pride themselves on their reputation and people skills which are evident by their truly excellent staff retention. They have an office which is based out of the Saskatoon area and they will deliver construction projects up to $125million on a lump sum, fixed price or design and build. By the nature of the market and long standing relation with various clients and stakeholders a lot of the work is done on a fixed price bases but design and build is becoming an integral part of their business

They have an experience team out of the office and like to manage people with open communication and actively encourage communication in connection with where the business is going. You get the best of both worlds, the backing of a large company but you also get the family feel to it and you’re not just an employee.

The sectors they work in are Heavy Civil such as Roads, Bridges, and Waste and Sewer Water Treatment plants all on a self performing basis in terms of the concrete. Commercial and Institutional such as schools, hospitals, new build government and university buildings. Heavy Industrial is the largest section of the business and they will do concrete foundations, power such as sub stations and waste /sewer water treatment plants for industrial plants ,the actual construction of the plants them selves along with all the associated piping and mining .

Our client already self performs on concrete but is now looking to set up and Electrical division within its business and hence they are looking for a Senior Project Manager /Operation Manager for the Electrical Side. You will work alongside your equivalent on the Mechanical and be responsible for all electrical construction activities within the construction process.

You will be supervising various projects and potential one large scheme on hands on basis and will ensure that the electrical element of construction is completed on time and within budget. You will be responsible for ensuring all productivity within the Electrical field, all budget costs and budget control.

You will also have an active part in the preconstruction and tendering within your electrical field for major construction projects.

You will in effect be managing the electrical construction division for a large major General Contractor

My client is looking for a candidate who has been working for an Electrical contractor in the role as operation manager /Senior Project Manager and has a proven track record in the delivery of projects up to the value of $10m -$20m in Electrical Construction. You can have worked in the Heavy Industrial side, Commercial or heavy civils but you must be hands on builder and worked for an Electrical Contractor and have at least 10-15 years in the Electrical side.

This represents a great opportunity to build something for you and make a name for yourself in a very well respected major General Contractor
