General Summary
The Centre for Suicide Prevention (CSP) is an Education Centre specializing in curriculum development, training programs, as well as library and information services. The purpose of the Centre is to inform and equip people with additional knowledge and skills in the prevention of suicide.
Reporting to and working collaboratively with the Education Director, the Aboriginal Liaison and Research Educator will research, analyze, develop and/or update curriculum materials and adapt instructional methodologies and assessment strategies consistent with adult
learning principles.

Responsibilities
-Conduct Research: literature reviews, focus group interviews and consult with subject matter experts;
-Develop and/or update curricula to provide current and relevant information;
-Consult and assist trainers to create excellent learning; and
-Provide expertise in First Nations histories, cultures and communities.

Qualifications
The successful candidate will have a university degree in Adult Education, Social Work, or related field with minimum of three years experience in research, adult education and development of programs. The candidate is ideally First Nations, Métis, or Inuit with strong knowledge of First Nations, Métis, and/or Inuit histories and culture. Successful Candidate will demonstrate:
-Excellent Research Skills, knowledge of research methodologies and knowledge of APA reference citation;
-Demonstrated knowledge of mental health;
-Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications;
-Expert level written and verbal communication skills;
-Experience in Aboriginal education program development (an asset); and
-Experience in adult learning/teaching with proven instructional design skills (an asset).
