Journeyman Carpenter
 

Reporting to the Foreman, the Journeyman Carpenter will be responsible for effectively delivering the civil portion of the project on time and to the specified quality of the client.

Key Responsibilities
· Reading blueprints;
· Undertaking the layout (selecting materials, planning sequences and methods of work, measuring and marking materials to avoid costly mistakes or omissions);
· Prepare, erect and remove structural formwork for concrete foundations, walls, columns, beams and shafts;
· Cutting and shaping materials and joining them with nails, screws, bolts or glue;
· Checking completed units to be sure they are level, square, plumb and the right size, shape and location;
· General carpentry such as framing, hoarding, doors and frames and other activities as assigned;
· Mentoring apprentices and labourers
