Description:
•Our client is a major fabricator of structural steel components/skids for the oil & gas sector. Scope of the position includes bid preparation, purchasing, liaising with the contractors/end users, and interfacing with shop and project administration.
•Our client is seeking an experienced Intermediate or Senior Project Coordinator / Estimator. Responsible for identifying potential projects, prepare take-offs and proposals to meet industrial customer specifications.
•You will work with the fabrication shop to implement and ensure customer specifications are met, including modifications, through to completion.
Qualifications:
•C.E.T or P.Eng. is preferred, with a minimum of 5 years related experience and have knowledge of estimating, have software knowledge and advanced Excel skills. It is essential that candidates have project co-ordination/management proficiency.
•Mechanical, Welding or Structural Engineering Diploma / Degree is preferred. Related Trades Journeyman, Welding, Boilermaker, Steelworker, Fitter, Millwright is acceptable.
•Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience Estimating in addition to further Project Management experience.
•Knowledge of in-house estimating packages and advanced Excel software
•Experience preparing and presenting estimates for structural steel skids, modules and tanks, from client drawings ( unit rate bid or other ), clarified with the client or contractor the specs required and functioned as a liaison between sales, purchasing and the shop manager/ supervisor. Avg. size of projects is $8-9 mm, but could be larger.
