Description: Required for our client who is a growing leader in the design, manufacturing and installation of pre-cast and pre-stressed concrete components for a variety of structures. Their products are used for both structural and architectural purposes and in a variety of applications including: bridges, stadiums, arenas, schools and parkades. The Operations Manager is responsible for Engineering, Field and Production.
Key Responsibilities
Responsible for continuous efficiency improvements in operations
Help establish operation and capital budgets
Define, evaluate and prioritize strategies to meet present and future customer needs and achieve corporate mission
Directs production activities to meet sales objectives at maximum efficiency and minimum cost.
Facilitates continuous improvement and management review activities.
Must demonstrate ability to be trained in new methods or procedures as required.
Must stay current with new technologies and changing manufacturing requirements.
Responsible for required data reporting in an accurate and timely manner.
Support the company “Quality Policy” to meet or exceed our customer requirements.
Comply with the quality system and policies.
Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree: Engineering, Civil, Manufacturing, Industrial; Technical Degree or Business Degree relating to Manufacturing
Minimum of seven (7) years in manufacturing management and five (5) years in the
construction or pre-cast industry.
Utilizes professional management skills. Manages by personally getting involved with production issues.
Highly organized and results-oriented.
Experience with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma certification would be an asset.
Able to utilize financial benchmarks and statistical tools to measure performance and
participate in the development of operating plans.
Familiar with Quality Systems and Procedures.
Proven ability to work in a team environment and maintain positive relationships.
Experienced at controlling labour with minimum support and machine efficiencies, scrap, material usage, etc.
