Senior Civil Engineer,whounder the direction and leadership of the Manager of Operations Engineering provides civil engineering support a fleet of generating stations and leadership for our Civil engineering group. Opportunity:
Key challenges for success may include:
Working with power station staff and other discipline engineers to trouble shoot problems and develop solutions.
Developing proposals and business cases for capital improvements.
Planning, designing and preparing contract documents for civil projects
Supporting and managing major maintenance and/or construction project activities.
Managing the work of independent contractors to ensure outcomes are consistent with contract requirements.
Undertaking performance and condition assessments
Supporting the development of engineering standards and practices.
Prioritizing and assigning work for the Civil group.
Providing leadership, supervision and mentoring of EIT’s and junior engineering staff.
Requirements:
A Civil Engineering degree from a recognized post secondary institution.
Registration with APEGGA as a Professional Engineer, or eligibility for registration.
8 or more years experience since graduation preferably in power stations, large industrial facilities or refineries.
Experience at an advanced level in the design and construction of civil structures and site services for industrial projects. Hydro-electrical project experiences will be an advantage.
Proven, successful project management experience.
Well development interpersonal skills and proven leadership abilities in a multi-discipline team environment.
Strong analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills.
Excellent communication skills (written, verbal and presentation).
Demonstrable ability to plan, organize and implement activities successfully
