We have been running an Orff program for the past 30 years, with great success, and the teacher who has been running it, is finding it too difficult physically, to do the fun, but exerting job. Must have had experience teaching young children, possibly former school teacher with music experience, piano group teacher, or current Orff, Suzuki, or Kodaly teacher.
All instruments available, will consider number of classes according to availability. Currently running 3 classes, 2 terms each, 1 each for ages 3, 4 and 5. Parents pay in advance, for term, and classes vary in length according to age of students. Currently expanding size of school, have large room that could comfortably serve classes up to 10 children. We prefer smaller classes, as they are easier to control, and more fun for children, but, will consider what teacher is using as a program. Previous teacher wrote her own program based on Orff and Kodaly methods, leading to choosing instrument to begin as they are able to begin private lessons. Teacher incorporated a lot of crafts and singing. Students were prepared and understood all instruments, and how they worked, plus what they sounded like, by the time they were able to begin private tuition. Large school, good opportunity for right person to also teach piano.
Days and times will depend on when preschool and kindergarten classes run. Mostly mornings, early afternoon. Experience with children a must, preference will be given to music or ed. grad. |
