This organisation specialises in providing both Non Obstetric (NOUS) and Obstetric ultrasound services to all sectors of healthcare (PCT's, GP's, PBC's, Private and Self Pay). This post is based in a community clinic and would ideally suit a professional looking to grow their career. Responsibilities:
• Day to day management of the clinical activities, including adherence to agreed ultrasound scanning protocols.
• Discussion of Ultrasound examination(s) with the patient and referring clinicians.
• Producing and analysing images for patients, formulating a clinical report and liaising with a Consultant Radiologist if required.
• Work within the local rules of Specialist Medical Imaging.
• Liaison with suppliers and members of the team regarding system faults and service days.
• To order and maintain consumables requirements and be responsible for stock control.
• Development of clinical protocols.
• Ensuring understanding of the clinical requirements within the organisation including administrative staff.
• Participation in QA programmes.
• Ensuring patients have clear understanding of the examination and information regarding subsequent interpretation and reporting.
• Attending seminars and promotional activities aimed at the wider medical community including GP’s and PCT’s.
• To participate in any audit and research undertaken related to the service provided.
• Sign up to and work within SMI policies, procedures and guidelines,
• All Ultrasonographer are expected to maintain CPR training by attending regular training sessions.
• Obstetric and Gynaecology scanning
• Pelvic Assessment
• Early Pregnancy Assessment and Dating
• Assessment of Endometrial Thickness for Post-menopausal bleeding
• Ovarian cancer screening in both pre and post menopausal woman
• Cervical competency scanning
• Advanced fetal monitoring-BPP, Doppler
• Neonatal head scanning
• Abdominal pelvic scanning in gynaecological malignancy
• Leg vein Doppler scans and small parts (Testes) scanning
• Advanced fetal monitoring
Requirements:
• Qualification in Radiography.
• Postgraduate qualification in Ultrasound.
• Must be State Registered and hold current HPC registration.
