CNC Mill - Set-Up/Operator
We are looking for a CNC Mill Programmer/Set-Up/Operator for our manufacturing facility specializing in precision machined components and assemblies for aerospace, defence and high technology markets. This is a full time, permanent opportunity. Applicants should possess 5 years of CNC Mill experience with exposure to programming and set-ups.
Key Deliverables
• Read detailed blueprint, job order, tooling instructions, and set up sheet for specifications such as dimensions, tolerances, type of holding fixtures, and cutting tools to be used.
• Mount vices, fixtures or other work holding devices.
• Position and secure tools in tool holders on turret and cross slide.
• Load programs. Analyze complex program; adjust programmed speeds, feeds, tooling and operating sequences as needed.
• Index turret and adjust positions of tools at each station in relation to work piece to assure clearance between moving parts and machining of specified dimensions and tolerances.
• Successfully create parts from a blueprint, manufacturing operations and tooling instructions, or engineering instructions.
• Set-up and operate 3 and 4 axis CNC mills to very close tolerances
• Use micrometers/other measuring instruments in order to perform quality control checks on parts in-process and upon completion
• Recommend changes to processes or procedures to improve quality and productivity
• Tasks may include development parts, depending upon production demands and product mix
• Determine which of several alternatives to use in conjunction with the programmer to accomplish tasks
• Make simple program changes and fixture modifications via manual edits
• Solve problems and deviations in accordance with previous training; interact with programming and quality to find solutions to new or unusual problems
• Knowledge of CNC programming (G code and Fanuc control) is preferred.

Experience and Basic Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of Machine Shop Technology program with machinist-level experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment is required or equivalent combination of training and experience.
• Must be able to read and understand blue-prints.
• 3+ years experience with CNC set-ups and change outs is essential.
• Must be able to lift 40 lbs with or without a lifting device.
• Must be capable of setting up and machining a variety of parts in assigned department.
