POSITION SUMMARY:
The General Manager will strive to maximize organizational performance by providing strategic leadership that focuses on meeting customer requirements while optimizing operational efficiencies. The successful candidate will possess superior leadership and coaching skills, developing a motivated and loyal workforce. Skilled in Operations management, the General Manager will be experienced in leading large projects, in P/L management, and in contract administration.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Ensure organizational standards and SOPs are maintained
Make certain company policies are communicated, administered and enforced in all departments
Ensure contract requirements are administered and enforced
Maximize inventory performance to ensure control, productivity, space utilization, and accuracy
Provide a safe, secure, clean and fair work environment for all staff
Conduct/oversee performance reviews, staff development and/or succession planning as appropriate
Ensure staff have access to necessary tools to perform assigned duties
Execute action plans, projects and best practices
Develop and maintain responsibility for budget, revenue and P&L
Monitor service levels to ensure that performance statistics are met
Workload planning and volume forecasting
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
In addition to initiative, integrity, strong work ethic and being a team player:
Bachelor''s Degree or College Diploma an asset
5-7 years supervisor/management experience with 2-3 years logistics industry experience preferred
Strong Operations background
P/L management
Experienced with setting objectives developing metrics and targets
Skilled in project management and contract administration
Superior management, communication and interpersonal skills
