POSITION SUMMARY:

A 24/7 Transportation organization requires an Operations Manager to provide leadership to a team of drivers and dispatchers. The successful candidate is a strong leader and coach, motivating their team to maximize operational efficiencies and reach corporate objectives. The Operations Manager must have previous supervisory experience within the Transportation, Dispatch and Logistics industries.


DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Focused on achieving operational objectives as they relate to organizational goals
Ensure optimum “on-time” performance is achieved and maintained
Coordinate dispatch requirements
Build strong relationships with staff and clients
Handle and resolve grievances
Maintain a safe working environment
Conduct performance reviews and evaluations of all staff
Able to fill in for staff when needed


SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
In addition to initiative, integrity, strong work ethic and being a team player:

5 years Transportation, Dispatch and Logistics experience
Post-Secondary education
Supervisory experience
Present/Previous Truck Driving experience an asset
Leadership and Coaching skills
Experience managing in a unionized environment
Proficient in use of MS Office Suite
