Duties include:
- Troubleshoot, repair, adjust, overhaul and maintain trucks, in accordance with dealership & manufacturer's standards
- Diagnose, dismantle and overhaul engines, transmissions and differentials
- Troubleshoot and repair/replace the components of electrical, fuel, steering, suspension and brake systems
- Test and adjust repaired systems to manufacturer's specifications, and for proper performance
- Review work orders and discuss work with supervisor,
- Complete reports to document problems and work performed
Qualifications
- Heavy duty mechanic certification, or 3rd level apprentice or higher
- Valid driver’s license, with clean driver's abstract
- The ability to diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical or hydraulic problems
- Demonstrated attention to detail and accuracy in a fast paced environment
- Ability to work with minimum supervision
- Ability to contribute positively in a team environment.
- Good interpersonal, organizational and communication skills
- A self-motivated willing attitude with effective problem solving skills
- Prior experience with computerized repair order systems & procedures would be an asset
- Prior experience repairing Volvo or Hino brand trucks would be an asset
