Qualifications:

-Degree in mechanical engineering/process engineering from a recognized university.
-Qualifications leading to Professional Engineering status in Alberta.


Experience Requirement:

-15 or more years of experience in power plant engineering and design.
-Extensive knowledge of large power/cogeneration plants.
-Preference for the ability to manage the mechanical design of power/cogeneration facilities, with specialization in one or all of:

-Steam Turbine Generators
-Combustion gas turbines generatorsranging in size from 40 to 180 MWe or higher.
-Mass and heat balance design and optimization utilizing Thermoflow and/or Gatecycle or similar industry software packages.
-Plant layout experience.


Additional Experience
-Project Management experience, or General Management Experience.
-Front-end studies, and economic analysis.
-Engineering man-hour estimating.
-Experience developing EPC bid packages.
-Experience preparing EPC cost estimates.
-Repowering Projects.
-Waste heat utilization, in both high energy heat recovery and low energy heat recovery.
-Integration of cogeneration plants into process plants.

-Good inter-personal skills.
-Good communicational skills.
-Ability to produce quality reports.
