THE POSITION

The selected candidate will perform detail design work on the mechanical aspects of material handling systems as they related to the oil sands industry. Specific duties include:

-Working with a team of Mechanical Engineers and designers,
-Developing/reviewing mechanical data sheets and specifications for equipment bids.
-Conducting technical evaluations of equipment bids and recommend vendors
-Model reviews
-Review vendor information and interface with the design team to ensure vendor equipment and models meet project requirements.


QUALIFICATIONS

The selected candidate for this role will have:

-Bachelors degree in Mechanical engineering
-Currently registered as a Professional Engineer with the authority to stamp drawings
-10 to 15 years experience in design of material handling systems for movement of bulk materials
-Experience in design of hoppers, bins and conveyor systems for use in the oil sands industry
-Analytical ability utilized in facing new design challenges
-Excellent people skills developed through extensive experience in a project driven multi-disciplined environment
-Able to manage a team with the intent to improve their technical output and skills
