THE JOB
Hatch Infrastructure is an expanding business unit involved in the provision of infrastructure design and construction services in the areas of transportation, marine works, and remote site support facilities, tailings storage facilities, and geotechnical engineering. Hatch has significant experience and expertise in all aspects of tailings disposal for clients with major projects in Australia, Asia, Africa, Russia and South America.
Hatch Infrastructure is seeking a suitably qualified Senior Civil Engineer with specific design experience in tailings disposal facilities to work with an existing multi-disciplinary team in Hatch's Calgary office in Alberta, Canada.
Reporting to the Regional Business Unit Director - Infrastructure, you will be responsible for:
-Development of tailings disposal solutions for mineral processing operations in nickel, gold, platinum, alumina, mineral sands and base metals production ranging from pre-feasibility studies through to detailed engineering and operational support;
-Preparing design calculations, specifications and technical review of the civil works associated with various tailings and related infrastructure projects;
-Direction and management of junior civil engineers and CAD designers;
-Providing specialist tailings management technical support to Hatch Infrastructure, Energy and Metals projects.
THE CANDIDATE
The successful candidates will have:
-Degree qualified civil engineer with at least 8 years previous experience in design engineering on civil and tailings projects in the heavy industrial/resources sector. relevant construction and operational experience will be well regarded;
-Strong technical skills in civil engineering with particular experience in earthworks and drainage design
