Responsibilities:
-Lead a major/minor project discipline team from conceptual stage to detail design stage.
-Able to plan, schedule and determine manpower for the project.
-Prepare DBM, EDS, cost estimate and detail design of plant power distribution system.
-Develop single line diagrams for HV/ MV/LV power distribution system.
-Carry out engineering calculations and analysis for demand load, equipment sizing, voltage drop, motor starting, neutral grounding resistors (NGRs), and system power factor improvement.
-Develop protection, relay coordination and relay settings for the power distribution system.
-Conduct load flow, short circuit and fault level studies using ETAP or SKM power system software.
-Specify and select electrical equipment, prepare data sheets, prepare RFQs and material requisitions. Interface with Vendors , review Vendor bids, conduct technical evaluations and make recommendations.
-Design substation layouts, grounding layouts, electrical equipment layouts, MV/LV motor control schematics, control panel layouts, cable and tray schedules.
-Prepare and develop area classification drawings in conjunction with process engineers.
-Read and extract electrical information from P& IDs and mechanical equipment load list.
-Provide guidance to junior engineers, designers CAD designers.
-Interface with team members, client and other discipline members.
-Carry out inspection and witness testing of electrical equipment as required.
-Provide technical support to construction as required.
Qualifications:
-B.Sc in Electrical Engineering Degree from a recognized University or equivalent qualification.
-P.Eng registration with APEGGA
-Minimum 10 years of Canadian experience in related oil and gas field.
-Familiar with different stages of EPCM projects.
-Knowledgeable with latest revision of CEC Part 1, C22.1
-Familiar with electric heat tracing design, fire and gas detection / alarm systems.
