Engineering Seismology Group Canada Inc. (ESG) specializes in solving engineering problems using microseismic monitoring and applied geophysical technology. ESG is a global operation with products and services implemented worldwide. They are recognized as the industry standard for induced microseismic monitoring. ESG is currently recruiting enthusiastic individuals to join an expanding team on a permanent, full-time basis. The successful applicant will be a motivated individual who is capable of working independently and as part of a team and who exhibits strength in oral and written communication.

Requirements: B.Sc. or higher education in earthquake seismology/ applied geophysics/ petroleum geoscience

Skills:
• Understanding of geophysical/seismic theory
• Strong mathematical skills
• Strong computer skills, including the ability to efficiently learn new computer software packages

Successful applicants will join the petroleum services division. Primary duties will include performing advanced microseismic monitoring and data processing, both on-site and in the Kingston office. As an integral part of the petroleum services division, duties will include:
• Monitoring, processing, and interpretation of induced microseismicity related to petroleum development/extraction and CO2 sequestration
• Seismic source studies
• Characterization of active faulting planes
• Fracture migration and propagation studies
• Establishing site requirements, including the installation of microseismic monitoring
• Travel to various locations within North America and worldwide
