Electrical/Instrumentation Engineer
 

Position: Field Instrumentation Engineer / Electrical Engineer
Location: Kingston ON, Canada

Commencement Date: Immediate

Engineering Seismology Group Canada Inc. (ESG) specializes in solving engineering problems using microseismic monitoring and applied geophysical technology. ESG is currently recruiting enthusiastic individuals to join an expanding team on a permanent, full-time basis. The successful applicant will be a motivated, inquisitive, self-starter who is capable of working independently and as part of a team. They will possess strong communication skills and comprehension of the operation of electronic systems.

Requirements: B.Sc. in Electronics/Electrical/Computer Engineering. The applicant must have, or be eligible to obtain their P.Eng license.

Skills:
• Electrical troubleshooting using oscilloscope and other debugging equipment.
• Solid understanding of electronic/communications/instrumentation systems
• Personal communication skills
• Report writing
• Project Management

The successful applicant will join the petroleum services division. As an integral part of this team, responsibilities will include:

• Supervising /Commissioning the installation of ESG equipment in the field
• Advanced seismic monitoring and data acquisition systems
• Deep bore-hole sensory equipment
• Wireless, Fiber optic, Satellite Communications networks
• Solar power systems
• Qualify each installation as ‘complete and operational’
• Data quality
• Radio/communication links
• Overall installation quality and appearance
• Providing on-site training to clients
• Provision of ongoing system support
• Working with ESG’s engineering development team to provide a path for continual product improvement
• Travel to various locations within North America and worldwide
