Everest Recruitment is assisting Bongarde Media with the recruitment for this position to help identify the best possible candidates for this exciting opportunity for a Search Engine Optimization Specialist.
General:
The ideal candidate, for this position, will have a strong Marketing background, a sound understanding of Internet search engines and how to increase the volume and quality of traffic to a web site from search engines, ensuring maximum visibility and ranking in the major search engines. A strong detail orientation and great communication skills will help to provide input into both Marketing and Web Development teams.

Responsibilities to include:
- maintaining an up to date knowledge of how the search algorithms work and how to improve websites to ensure maximum visibility and ranking in the major search engines;
- increasing traffic to the websites by helping to create in-bound links from other relevant websites;
- optimisation of on site content including controlling naming and linking conventions of web pages and images;
- acquiring a thorough understanding of the applications' features and business logic;
- tracking and reporting of traffic and search engine rankings and communicating up to date advice to the Marketing and Web development teams of what to include/exclude from the websites in order to improve the quantity and quality of traffic to the website;
- managing outsourcing relationships are required
Skills: The ideal candidate will :
- be extremely quality and detail oriented;
- be able to quickly learn new information, both technical and procedural;
- have excellent interpersonal and English language skills, both verbal and written.
Experience: The ideal candidate will:
- have a minimum of 2 years of search engine optimisation of a large website in a competitive environment;
- have proven ability to achieve top search engine rankings;
- have knowledge of best practices for search engine optimization;
- have knowledge of different search engines, search engine spiders and search engine ranking factors;
- have knowledge of HTML, CSS and related web based technologies.
Education/Qualifications:
- Grade 12 minimum, ideally also holding a relevant diploma or other qualification.
