Compensation: Competitive salary depending on experience.
Two weeks vacation pa. (negotiable for right candidate)

General:

The Financial Accountant position reports to the Controller and is responsible for meeting month-end deadlines, producing financial statements and performing variance analysis. In this position you will understand the business process and be able to review Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable data entry, create monthly journal entries and perform General Ledger account reconciliations.
Contract administration for Clients and project accounting are also incorporated into the daily objectives of this position. We are looking for a detail oriented individual who is motivated and possesses strong initiative to improve processes and increase efficiencies.
The right candidate will be a team player but also be able to work unsupervised on their own. Preference will be given to individuals that have achieved their 3rd or 4th level of a designated accounting program, and who excels in a computerized environment.
There is an opportunity for growth within this position, with later promotion to assistant controller an option for the right candidate.

Duties & Responsibilities:

- Assist the Controller with Financial Objectives;
- Perform Month End activities and create journal entries;
- Reconcile GL Accounts and report for management;
- Review Accounts Payable and Receivable activities for accuracy;
- Administrate Contracts (coordinate sales quotes and prepare sales contracts);
- Project costing, tracking and analysis and Chart of Accounts Maintenance;
- Document accounting procedures and provide recommendations for the automation of process improvements required to meet financial deadlines;
- Other duties to be determined.



Education & Experience Required:

- 3rd or 4th level, enrollment in a certified/professional accounting designation program;
- Strong knowledge of Accounting Principles (“GAAP”) and practices;
Degree, Diploma or equivalent experience in Accounting;
- 4 - 5 years of accounting experience in a computerized environment;
- Experienced in a Windows environment with strong Microsoft Office skills.
