Our client, a major automotive parts supplier, is currently searching for a Controls Technician to join them on a permanent basis.
Role and Responsibilities:
Establishes and follows-up full project implementation including timing, concept, feasibility, design, specifications, construction and commissioning;
Maintains and upgrades PLC software: assist in training of staff on electronic equipment;
Analyses, records and charts documentation required for maintenance records and projects;
Services, maintains, repairs, installs and tests new or existing equipment and verifies conformance to specifications;
Complete repairs, modifications and installations as required;
Troubleshooting of process problems and complete quality improvements as required to maintain part standards of quality;
Deals extensively with vendors (both parts suppliers and equipment suppliers);
Department support for testing, repairing and calibrating electric or electronic components;
Plant support in troubleshooting / repairs and systems improvements (optimization);
Maintain safety standards of equipment and work area and perform all duties in a safe manner in accordance with the safety policies;
Carries out preventative maintenance procedures as laid out by the manufacturers specifications;
Prepares drawings, materials specifications to requisition as required by vendors or other departments;
Able to understand and CSA-462 and/or NEMA 70-E;
TS16949 awareness and adherence;
ISO14001 awareness and adherence;
Lean Manufacturing and 5S concepts awareness and adherence;

Qualifications:
College diploma in industrial/electrical controls;
3 years+ experience with electronic control systems in a robotic welding or laser field or on CNC machine tools.
Proven of record of PLC programming (Allen Bradley, Siemens) or CNC controls (Fanuc, Siemens);
This is a permanent role that will pay a competitive hourly wage based on experience level.
