Our client, a Fast Growing Oil Company based in the Middle East, currently require a Production Supervisor to add to their ever-growing and experienced engineering staff in Kuwait.
Description Position Summary:
The Operations Specialist will provide a range of production operations support for the Complex field facilities and provide a focal point for a range of production related information especially in the areas of production reporting, well information, work planning and training. The Operations Specialist will also work closely with the Operations Engineering group assisting with planning and execution of topsides, subsurface and subsea projects necessary for operational readiness or production improvement. The Operations Specialist will also play a key role in interfacing with other departments for logistics support, safety issues, contracts and procurement, and the primary O & M support contractor.
The individual may be required to fulfill the duties of the Operations Superintendent during their absence as well as Offshore Supervisory roles. It would be expected this individual might spend as much as 25% of his time, or more offshore.
This position will be located onshore, with a 28/28 day rotational schedule.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Provide overall support to a multi-national, multi-cultured operations team to ensure that company safety and business targets are achieved
• Assist the Operations Superintendent with daily operations to ensure the facilities are operated and maintained in compliance with Company processes, EHS Standards, and API Standards
• Be an integral part of the Emergency Response Team (ERT) , EG
• Interface with the Offshore and Onshore Teams in the daily operations and routine interpretation of the operations needs to meet KPI targets
• Demonstrate leadership, commitment and foster a culture where health, safety and the environment are not compromised
• Work as part of a team consisting of personnel from offshore and onshore, engineering, and operations to work together in order to maximize value of the company assets
• Monitor production efficiency and raise action items as appropriate to ensure optimum field performance
• Develop standards where needed and implement through SAP and/or the Operations Management System
• Manage the planning and execution of special projects
• Liaise with the Logistics and Supply Chain Departments for the delivery of material and manpower
• Assist with competency verification of offshore personnel
• Provide and maintain effective documentation for appropriate record keeping
• Prepare input to weekly, monthly and quarterly reports
• Manage a range of assigned Support Service Contracts
• Facilitate in the mentoring and development of National staff
• Assist with the development of and work within the guidelines of the operating budget
• Interface with the primary O&M contract personnel on a wide range of technical support issues, Nationalization, and offshore personnel training programs
• Ensure that effective communications are maintained with offshore personnel, service contractors and government personnel.
Skills Required Education, Skills and Experience:
• 15+ years of offshore facility operations experience
• 3+ years of leading or supervising a team of multi-skilled or multi-national personnel
• 3+ years international experience an added benefit, preferably in West Africa
• Commercial and business awareness
• A strong leader and team player
• Formal training with Command of Major Emergencies competency
• Good analytical and problem solving skills; work with minimal supervision; must be a self-starter
• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team oriented environment
• Effective written and oral communication skills
• Basic knowledge of SAP.
Schedule/Physical Requirements:
• Work schedule is a 28 days-on and 28 days-off rotation. Typical work day is 12 hours
