Quality Measurement Instrument Engineer Abu Dhabi
 

Our client, a renowned drilling service provider based in the Middle East, currently require a Quality Measurement Instrument Engineer to add to their ever-growing and experienced engineering staff in Qatar.

Description Purpose:
The QMI Engineer requires an in depth knowledge for working with these specialized types of equipments, which includes a full understanding of instrumentation and control systems, plant process and control, a good background in chemistry as well as the analytical ability to trace and identify faults with variety of equipment circuits.

Main Accountabilities:
• To prepare shut down and new installation job plans and coordinate implementation of these jobs with concerned department and sections.
• To compile a maintenance history of analysers and analyse data and recommend solutions for abnormal and repeated failures.
• To compile/provide input for preparation of division/department Capital and Operating budgets and monitor annual expenditure budgets.
• To enforce the implementation of Company’s Health, Safety and Environment Management System (HSE-MS) and also promote awareness of its use among all division and department personnel.
• To evaluate/identify the correct analysers and other analytical instruments on site, to meet the operational changes of the plant and ensure they are working within standards and specifications.
• To review reliability issues with Operations and take corrective action to improve performance.
• To review and follow up revised Engineering drawings and records, ensuring “as built” records are retained.
• To ensure maximum utilization of the Maximo CMMS system for equipment history and analysis data.
• To ensure implementation of competency based Training & Development programs, through use of Personal Development Plans (PDP’s)

Main Challenges:
• To improve the quality and efficiency of analytical equipment, taking into consideration the limited availability of manpower, spares and materials.
• To adopt new technological tools and software for maintaining analyzer integrity, bearing in mind the speed of equipment obsolescence
Skills Bachelors Degree in Instrumentation Engineering or equivalent
