POSITION SUMMARY:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Machine Builder with a minimum of 3 years of experience assembling, testing and installing factory automation machinery, including conveyors, palletizers, pick & place robots, feeders, sorting equipment, robotic welding cells, and high speed packaging equipment. This role requires both in shop and field service at customer locations ranging from local emergency service calls to extended overnight travel up to several weeks.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assembly and testing of new automated machinery
Perform machinery & equipment installations
Rigging and installing new equipment
Scheduled maintenance and responding to emergency service calls
Preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, diagnoses and repairs to installed equipment
Fabrication of parts using machine shop equipment, including mill, lathe, brake press, shear press
Fitting and welding using various welding processes including TIG (GTAW) and Stick (SMAW)
Basic electrical wiring an asset
QUALIFICATIONS:
Licensed Millwright 433A preferred, previous experience with no ticket will be considered
Previous experience with equipment rigging
Strong background in robotic systems
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Valid drivers license and clean drivers abstract as you will be operating a company service vehicle
Valid passport with unrestricted travel to the US
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
This position requires regular travel, including both day trips and overnight travel
The nature of the travel ranges from local or overnight scheduled maintenance, local emergency service work, and extended overnight travel for customer installations
Depending on the size and scope of an installation, technicians may be required to work away for three weeks followed by one week working locally
Overnight travel is typically to the US but could be within Canada or Europe/Asia - valid passport and unrestricted ability to travel to the US is required
Must be able to travel on short notice when required
SHIFTS, COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:
Shift is steady days with overtime required when working on-site. Weekend work is also required.
This position starts at $25/hour with an increase to $26/hour following your first three months of employment, and the opportunity for progressive wage increases and advancement to supervisory level
