A general contracting construction company located in Toronto, is currently looking to hire a Site Supervisor with minimum 3 to 5 years experience in commercial/retail construction with base building experience.
The ideal candidate has experience overseeing construction job sites and has a sound ability to highlight strong and weak sub-trades. The ability to review all construction documents such as drawings, specifications addendums, and work closely with clients, consultants, city officials, sub-trades and suppliers is essential.
The individual must be able to produce complete and accurate daily site reports and prepare Request For Information (RFI) as required, meet legitimate work expectations and deadlines, rectify deficiencies and obtain sign-off documentation from clients, consultants and city officials and meet budget targets for labour, material, rentals and deficiency recalls. Safety on all job sites is paramount therefore the ideal candidate has experience highlighting and enforcing safety and handling concerns or infractions while on site.
The ideal candidate has excellent oral and written skills, high attention to detail, ability to lead teams of various size, has considerable knowledge of the methods and techniques of building construction, Ontario Building Codes, Health and Safety requirements and able to comprehend, interpret and understand plans and specifications.
This position will involve working extended hours and some weekends and the flexibility to travel to various construction site locations within the GTA and across Canada is required.
