Provide technical support in developing and maintaining database applications.
This position requires at least three years of experience developing relational database applications with a primary focus.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Design and develop data models and database architecture Construct, install and test the database system. Convert proprietary data, from a variety of sources, into a SQL Server application database using SQL Write manuals or explain database's function Consult with others to assess the system performance Prepare reports on databases Customize databases for specific needs. Develop efficient and optimized conversion programs to complete data conversions. Test the conversion programs based on pre-determined schedule Train users and provide technical support. Complete project within the scope of pre-determined schedule
EDUCATION:
Bachelor's degree in computer sciences.
EXPERIENCE
Have substantial coding experience in at least one major programming language and preferably web based languages such as ASP, PHP or Cold Fusion.
REQUIRED SKILLS & ABILITIES
Strong knowledge of HTML and SQL, Ability to accurately assess and estimate time required to complete projects. Fast learner and self-directed Ability to prioritize between new projects, enhancements and maintenance. Strong communications skills required
EDUCATION:
Masters in computer sciences.

INDUSTRY CANADA ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:
In order to be eligible to participate in this Youth Employment Program, the student must:
1. be between the age of 15 and 30 years.
2. be Canadian citizen or permanent resident or person who has been granted refugee status or international student visa in Canada.
International student or graduate must have valid work permit in Canada.
3. be enrolled in a post-secondary education program or have recently graduated from such program and intending to return to school; and
4. be pursuing education in computer science, computer engineering, and Programming or Web development.
5. The student will have to complete and sign an Industry Canada Participant Information Form (PIF) prior to the start of the internship.
