Title - Staff Accountant
Eligibility for Overtime - Exempt

Reports to - Controller
Salary - $45K - $55K (Base Salary + Bonus/Commission/Overtime)

JOB SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for the day to day accounting for all assigned properties. This position is required to interact daily with the Controller, other members of the accounting department and with members of property management as required.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Complete the quarterly reporting packages.
- Send out miscellaneous reports as needed by the banks and mortgage companies.
- Complete quarterly workpaper preparation for tax returns.
- Prepare schedules as necessary for cash flow projections.
- Review of cash disbursement report and review payment requirements with Controller.
- Assist with the preparation of the annual budget and reforecast for all properties.
- Review input of all recurring journal entries.
- Assist with migration of the accounting system from Enterprise to Voyager.
- Verify monthly mortgage and interest payments to lenders.
- Review the appropriateness of manual billings.
- Assist with the preparation of five-year cash flows for properties.
- Prepare quarterly preferred returns for properties.
- Prepare account reconciliations as needed.
- Assist with writing narrative portions of the budgets with property managers.
- Verifying closing statements on loans.
- Review and approve Lease Summaries
- Pack up storage items as needed and send to storage.
- Annually go through storage locations.
- Special projects as assigned.
SKILLS, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- This position requires the ability to prioritize assignments while working on numerous projects simultaneously.
- Must have strong working knowledge of computer software packages and be proficient in Excel.
- The ability to work independently is essential.
- Property Management accounting background is preferred and experience with Yardi, Voyager, Enterprise and Crystal reporting is helpful.
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting is required. |
