Responsibilities
Understand the terms and conditions of the contract manufacturer (CM)
Understand the capabilities and services that the CM can provide
Timely communication of the forecasting of each product requirements to relevant CM
Plan proper redundancy scheme to meet the production dead-lines
Ability to manage a project - detailed time line analysis and scheduling
Develop and control , and implement the process and fine tune them to the needs of the manufacturer and ERLPhase
Document detailed verification document for the CM where applicable. Formally sign -off the technical requirements with the R&D team.
Adopt ISO 9000 documentation process and control system.
Conduct regular weekly meeting between CM and ERLPhase
Detailed understanding of BOM and implement a process to convey the same with the manufacturer
Clearly understand the long lead parts and arrange to judicially buy them and stock them
Clearly understand the EOL (End of Life ) management, with manufacturers
Establish a process for EOL part replacement coordinating with R&D team
Effective, regular and prompt coordination / communication with the R&D team the issues with the design and manufacturing of the product.
Cost reduction and secondary source planning (component hadndling).
Inspire the direct report and make them follow the process, and allow them to think and contribute to the improvement.
Skills & Qualifications
Education: Bachelor of Engineering degree or two-year electronics technologist diploma
Experience: minimum 5 years of contract manufacturing / production management experience with:
Development and maintenance of a production test system (policies, procedures, form, etc.)
Project Leadership / Scheduling
Mentoring production staff
Strong interpersonal and excellent written and oral communication skills.
Familiarity with electrical power systems is an asset desired
Must be a strong team player
