Carpenter
 

Carpenter needed full time (day and evenings/weekends) to start as soon as possible. Must have completed college/cegep/vocational or technical training with a carpenter trade certificate. Minimum 5-10 years experience. Must be able to speak, read and write in English. Areas of specialization include: general carpentry, rough carpentry, finish carpentry, framing. Specific skills to include but not limited to: determine specifications and calculate requirements; prepare layouts; measure, cut, shape, assemble and join mouldings, wood materials, drywall and plastics materials; fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings and hardware; build walls and install partitions; install suspended ceilings; build and install framing for dropped ceilings, counters, indirect lighting, display cases, etc.; build built-in place pitched roof systems; build porches and verandas; build decks and fences; build and install platforms, scaffolding, ramps and ladders, operate power tools. Must own tools, safety equipment/gear, steel-toed safety boots, hard hat. Must be able to work in confined spaces, with noise and dust, and at various heights. Driver’s license is required. Essential skills include but not limited to: reading text, numeracy, writing, oral communication, working with others, problem solving, decision making, critical thinking, job task planning and organizing, continuous learning.
