JOB DESCRIPTION
Overview
Our Kitchen Manager plays a key position in ensuring a fun, energetic atmosphere and exceeding our guest's food expectations. You will create a positive, lasting impression to our guests with our highest standards in taste, presentation and consistency of our menu items. You will promote our teamwork values and assist the team with providing genuine hospitality to our guests at all times.
Major Responsibilities & Duties
* Creates menu
* Hires, Trains & Develops new & existing kitchen team
* Provides coaching & discipline to team mates, as necessary
* Maintains and exceeds provincial Health, Safety and Sanitation standards
* Maintains proper inventory levels and controls
* Maintains and supplies accurate information in regards to weekly & monthly cost reporting
* Forecasts budgets and projections
* Facilitates kitchen staff meetings and ongoing training sessions
* Maximizes sales via menu specials, banquets, fundraisers, and birthday parties
* Works on special projects and personal development
* Ongoing assessment of menu mix.
Education &Experience
* Minimum 3 years experience in the kitchen supervisory or management field.
* Previous experience managing a restaurant or a pub
* Provincially recognized safe food handling certification.
* Working knowledge of the Micros System
Requirements
* You are a self-motivated, well-organized leader with great communication skills. * You are an energetic individual with a positive and friendly attitude towards your
team mates and guests.
* You are flexible to accommodate the hours of operations and remain professional
in all situations.
* You are a proven leader with a minimum of 2 years full service restaurant
kitchen experience in a fast paced environment
* You can motivate and coach a superior team dedicated to guest service in a team
environment.
* You possess a solid understanding of food and labour controls and the desire to meet those challenges.
