Refrigeration Technicians
 

POSITION SUMMARY

Maintenance, diagnosis and repair of refrigeration, heating & air-conditioning systems commonly installed in supermarkets, convenient stores and cold storage facilities.

- Perform prescribed, routine maintenance procedures on supermarket refrigeration systems and self-contained temperature controlled merchandisers. Operating knowledge of self-contained refrigeration, heating and air conditioning units.

- Duties may include but are not limited to:

- Diagnose refrigeration systems and perform necessary repairs resulting in 100% customer satisfaction. Ability to repair leaks on racks or single-unit piping, solder with copper-to-brass and copper to steel, diagnose low air flow, install PVC drain pipe, use temperature meters and sensors, receive, uncrate and properly hang blower coils, locate refrigeration leaks, fabricate hangers, struts and supports, power wash air-cooled condensing units, replace any component on a rack and perform walk-in case installation.

- Maintain current knowledge of Hussmann new product developments, service bulletins and issues.

- Demonstrate an understanding and adherence to all work safety policies and procedures including OSHA and any local authorities governing requirements.

- Complete necessary documents (work tickets and time sheets) and electronic communication in a thorough, accurate and timely manner. Demonstrate ability to utilize a hand-held computer to complete necessary customer paperwork and invoicing requirements.

- Demonstrate knowledge of refrigeration, electrical and microprocessor control systems by maintaining the Certified Hussmann CERTI-TECH certification.

- Maintain and manage truck inventory in a accurate, neat and orderly manner as well as adhere to vehicle maintenance program guidelines (If applicable).

- Develop and maintain excellent customer relations.

- Follow branch procedures and policies.

- Maintain a neat work place and appearance.


ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: (e.g. physical demands, confidentiality requirements, travel requirements)

· Applicable Refrigeration License.
· Computer and microprocessor control experience
· Valid Driver’s license and a safe driving record
· Physically able to climb ladders, work at high elevations and lift objects up to fifty pounds
· Excellent verbal and written communications skills, detail oriented and highly motivated
· Minimum of 1 years of experience
· Ability to work nights and/or weekends as required as well as on call schedule and holidays
